    An eight day tour of the classical sites of Israel, starting in Tel Aviv and visiting Galilee, Old Jerusalem, Masada, Acre, Haifa and the Golan Heights.

    This tour includes an English speaking guide for six days and all entrance fees to sites that are included in the itinerary.

    Day 1: Tel Aviv (Sunday)

    Upon your arrival at Tel Aviv airport you are met by your tour representative who transfer you to your hotel in Tel Aviv for your overnight stay.

    Day 2: Tel Aviv / Be’er Sheba / Masada-Dead Sea (Monday)

    Following breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Tel Aviv and taken via Ashdod and Ashkelon to Beersheba, where you will be taken on a short visit to the Negev capital.

    After visiting Beersheba you are taken via Arad to Masada. Here you ascend by cable car to the remains of Herod the Great's fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. At Masada you will see historic excavations including the remains of Herod’s palaces with synagogues and bathhouses. From top of the plateau at Masada you can enjoy breathtaking views of the locations of the Roman camps and the the Dead Sea.

    Later you are taken to the Dead Sea where you will have the opportunity to float in its salty waters.

    Finally you travel via Ein Gedi and Kalya to Jerusalem for your overnight stay.

    Day 3: Jerusalem - Sightseeing Tour of the New City (Tuesday)

    In the morning you are driven to Mount Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem, before being taken to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of the Agony. The tour then continues to the Shrine of the Book where you will see the famous Dead Sea scrolls.

    Your guide will then take you to visit to the beautifully renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple.

    The tour then continues to to Yad Vashem where you will see the memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. In the afternoon you are driven to the picturesque village of Ein Karem (the birth place of John the Baptist).

    Day 4: Jerusalem (Old City) - Bethlehem (Wednesday)

    Your day starts with a walk through one of the Gates of Bethlehem to the walled Old City and the Jewish Quarter. The tour takes in the Western Wall and the Temple area including the colourful bazaars, Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross, ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

    You are then driven to Mount Zion where you are shown the Tomb of King David, the room of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey.

    The day finishes with a return to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity before returning to Jerusalem for your overnight stay.

    Day 5: Beit She’an - Tiberias - Galilee (Thursday)

    From Jerusalem you travel to Jericho - one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, and then through the Jordan Valley and the new settlements to Beit She’an. Here you are guided through the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City.

    After Beit She’an you are taken to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Following a drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee you arrive in Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue.

    Your overnight stay is in a Kibbutz hotel.

    Day 6: Upper Galilee and Golan Heights - Nazareth (Friday)

    Your day starts with a visit to the Golan Heights and the former Syrian fortifications before moving to the Druze villages. You will visit Banias where you will see the source of the River Jordan. Travelling via the Hula Valley you are taken to Safed, one of Judaism's four holy cities, and a centre of Kabbalah. In Safed you will visit a synagogue and the artists' colony before travelling to Nazareth to visit the Christian holy sites.

    Your overnight stay is in a Kibbutz hotel.

    Day 7: Acre - Haifa - Tel Aviv (Saturday)

    After breakfast your guide takes you to Acre to visit the famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. After Acre you continue to Haifa - the largest city in northern Israel where you see the Baha’i Shrine, Persian Garden and Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and bay.

    You then travel along the coast to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress.

    The day finishes with with a short city tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa and before your overnight stay at your hotel.

    Day 8: Departure or Extended Tour to Jordan (Sunday)

    Following breakfast you are transfered to the airport for your departure, or can extend your tour with a visit to Jordan.
