    A wonderful eight day tour of the biblical sites of Israel, starting in Tel Aviv and visiting Caesarea, Tiberias, the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and Masada.


    This tour includes an English speaking guide and all entrance fees to sites that are included in the itinerary.

    Day 1: Tel Aviv (Thursday)

    Upon your arrival at Tel Aviv airport you will met by a tour representative who transfer you to your hotel in Tel Aviv for your overnight stay.

    Day 2: Tel Aviv / Sea of Galilee / Tiberias (Friday)

    After breakfast your guide takes you to Jaffa (Joppa) for a short walking tour of this picturesque town and its fortifications. You will see the house of Simon the Tanner and have some time to take in the views from the hilltop.

    The tour then takes you northwards along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea. Here your guide will show you the archaeological ruins of the city and the harbour built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar. Your journey continues to Megiddo, mentioned in the book of Revelations as the site of the ultimate battle - also known as Armageddon. Megiddo is an ancient city inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.).

    After exploring the ancient ruins of the city, you are taken towards the Sea of Galilee.

    Your overnight stay is at a hotel in Tiberias.

    Day 3: Sea of Galilee (Saturday)

    Your guide takes you from Tiberias where Jesus lived and preached on the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, the center of Jesus ministry.

    Beginning at Tabgha, just north of Tiberias where Christ performed the miracle of the feeding the five thousand, you will visit the Church of the Multiplication and see the mosaic floor depicting a basket with loaves and two fish.

    You then travel to the Mount of the Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount and is understood to have selected his twelve apostles.

    You then ascend the Golan Heights to view the panorama of Mount Hermon, the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights and the green pastoral Hulah Valley.

    Your overnight stay is at a hotel in Tiberias.

    Day 4: Sea of Galilee / Jordan River / Jerusalem (Sunday)

    In the morning you leave the Sea of Galilee and travel to the village of Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine. Your tour then moves to Nazareth where Jesus spent his childhood. You visit the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. You will also see Mary's Well and Joseph's Church.

    You continue through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, one of the cities of the Decapolis with its recently excavated amphitheater. Here you visit the excavations of this beautiful preserved Roman city which was destroyed in an earthquake. You tour then travels via the Jordan Valley to Jerusalem.

    Arrive in Jerusalem for overnight

    Day 5: Dead Sea / Masada (Monday)

    Travelling past the Dead Sea at over 1,300 feet below sea level you travel through this remarkable area to visit Qumran. Here you are shown the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

    The tour then takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Masada located on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. You ascend by cable car to the fortress which was the last stronghold of the Zealots in their war with the Romans. You guide takes you to the location of King Herod's palace, the synagogue, bath houses and many other archealogical sites.

    From Masada you enjoy breathtaking views as you travel to the Dead Sea where you have time to float in the heavy salty water and enjoy the benefits of the mud, rich in minerals.

    The tour returns to Jerusalem for your overnight stay.

    Day 6: Jerusalem (Tuesday)

    The day is spent in the area of Jerusalem where you are shown the major sites of historic and biblical interest.

    Jerusalem is a very important city for the world's great religions - Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and your tour visits sites of importance to all three.

    After enjoying a spectacular panarama of Jerusalem from the top of Mount Scopus you are taken to the Mount of Olives where Jesus first gave the Lord's Prayer, before visiting the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Jesus.

    In the Old City of Jerusalem you visit the Western Wall and the site of the Second Temple - the Temple Mount. The tour follows the "Way of the Cross" - the Via Dolorosa - to Calvary, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the site of the crucifixion of Christ and the Tomb of the Resurrection.

    Finally you visit Mount Zion to see the traditional tomb of King David and the location of the Last Supper.

    Your overnight stay is in Jerusalem.

    8 Night Classical Tour of Israel

    Day 7: Jerusalem (Wednesday)

    The day starts with a visit to Yad Vashem - the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The memorial was established in 1953 and is located at the foot of Mount Hertzl. Your guide will then take you to the picturesque village of Ein Karem, which is recognised as being the birthplace of John the Baptist.

    You are taken for a tour of the Israel Museum and view the scale model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple before viewing the Shrine of the Book where you will see the Dead Sea Scrolls.

    You are then driven past the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the campus of the Hebrew University in Bethlehem to see Rachel's Tomb and the Church of the Nativity.

    You return to your hotel for your overnight stay.

    Day 7: Jerusalem (Thursday)

    On the final day of the tour you are transferred to the airport for your return flight or you can extend your tour to include a visit to the Kingdom of Jordan and/or Egypt.
